Erin - I got a corgi in 2006 (Mr. Tristen) and I love him to death. I signed up at the local Corgi Rescue about a year prior. I hadn't heard anything for a while and then all of a sudden there was a dog to take home. I know that it would have been great if I could have gotten him as a puppy (how cute are corgi puppies?) but I got my guy when he was 2 or 2 1/2. He needed a home so I felt good about getting a pedigree. I think they only charged me $200 or $250 for the neutering and stuff like that. It's much cheaper than getting one from a breeder.

Oh, and my guy still has his tail. Some are born without them but others get clipped when they are puppies. My guy was stuck living outside and flea infested so you can imagine they didn't bother to groom his tail. And then they told me that it would be very traumatic to loose his tail at 2-years-old. But he's so cute with it anyways it doesn't matter.

Corgi's are a handful! They will run your house and capture your heart. You should look into the local rescue just in case. Good luck!

Thanks Erin. After you declined my meme, I had to go into "treatment". My shrink, Paul (obscure reference), told me I was suffering from blog-meme rejection, some new kind of disorder spawned from the interweb. I am much better now though. :-)

Nice learning more about you.

Hey, how come you only had to do five????

Erin, thanks for playing! It's great to know more about you. Actually, I too was a "band geek" and played the flute for about 10 years. Now it collects dust on my closet shelf. :)

I completely understand your yearning for a Corgi puppy. I just showed my husband this picture on the Daily Puppy the other day and we "oohed" and "ahhed" over Teddy's *extreme* cuteness.

Erin, I still watch The Sound of Music whenever it's on. And then we sing "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Carrina" (our oldest, and we do it just to bug her. (secretly, I think she likes it.)
And I think as long as you can take your dog for walks, you should go ahead and get one! (that's me being an enabler again...)

Thanks for the shout out!
