Emma - I totally think you'll be able to eat the whole selection Boston Organics sends. Maybe the pictures I took of my delivery will help you to convince Ben to let you guys sign up:

Besides, you're missing out on all of the fun!

We have several and all of them are local pickup only. Not one of them is within 100 miles of where we live!!!!

For the kind of money they want for a subscription, I can't see making a 200 mile drive each pickup day.

It is a shame really.

Sarah - Is this anywhere near you? http://www.theabsoluteorganics.com/

RecipeGirl - http://www.seabreezed.com/ And maybe this for you?

Kristen B - Seriously Thank you! Thank you! I feel like it's Christmas. I've always wanted to try one of these services. How did you hear about it? Getting random boxes of fruits and veggies is going to be like a Top Chef quick fire every week. Like...what can you make with a mango and fingerling potatoes? Who knows...but it will be fun!

Well, Orlando has stepped up to the plate and I'm signing my happy behind up. This is something that has me raving because, quite frankly, Orlando produce is looking a little rough at The Fresh Market, Publix and Albertsons. And Whole Foods is just not an option with the amount of crazy driving around that parking lot (makes Boston look tame).

What's wrong with honeydew melons ;)

yay boston organics! i am excited to hear what you think (as i sit here eating my valencia orange from friday's delivery). I think it's a great service, especially for our family of four ravenous fruit and veggie eaters.

While I agree that it would be more cost effective to hit up the farmer's market, I often don't have the time to get down there, and when I do, I can only carry so much back on foot!

This week was only our first delivery, but so far the famous chef in my house and myself are really satisfied with the quality and variety of produce that we received. And while we have had to pick up a few things from the grocery store, what I liked best was being inspired by what we got to cook some different things.

I hope you enjoy it!

This sounds like a great deal. I need to look into this in my own area (San Diego.) It would be like getting a big present on your doorstep every Wednesday!!

I'm so jealous! We have nothing like there here (I am in NC). I would love to be part of that...can't wait to hear about it once you get your first shipment!

The CSAs in Baltimore don't have the "turn off delivery" feature; you have to sign up and pre-pay for the entire season. Since it is strictly local produce, I get the feeling we'd end up augmenting it with staples like lemons/limes that we will never get in the box. I've also heard horror stories of drought and weeks of getting basically nothing but chard with no discount.

And perhaps the clincher-they don't deliver to your house you have to pick them up at...the farmer's market. Where we typically go and spend only $10-15 or so for the week anyway. There are a couple neutral third party locations that you can arrange to pick up your produce at but still, no home delivery.

I'd consider it if we had some veggie loving friends who could go halvies with us or if we could pay week-to-week.
