Congratulations to Lisa Smith who was the winner of the $100 gift card!
I started a challenging new job last year and then moved into a crazy loft a few months ago. Both of these major events have changed my usual routine immensely. Truth be told I’ve had some seriously frustrating days lately where I feel like I simply can’t keep up with everything: work, cleaning the house, picking up after two very furry cats, cooking, blogging, socializing, going to the gym — the list of personal to-do items is non-stop.
Unfortunately when I get overwhelmed I’m not lucky enough to be one of those women who stops eating or forgets to eat. I’m more apt to scarf down a handful of nuts, followed by some olives, then a slice or two (ok…ok…three) of cheddar cheese, and top it all off with a little sauvignon blanc. Before you know it I’ve ruined my dinner, added to my guilt of not being able to “do it all,” and probably completely put off any thoughts of making my way over to the gym. Then I inevitably try to convince myself for the remainder of the evening that because I consumed all of those things standing up it didn’t count.
A similar routine can also sometimes arise for me at the office. You know how it is. The clock hits 2:00 or 3:00 PM and your willpower and energy fly right out the window (if you’re lucky enough to have such a “magical” glass structure nearby). Then I find myself dreaming of donuts or ice cream cones from the shops down the street. And we all know that dish of peanut butter cup isn’t going to help get any sort of report done. If anything it will cause me to feel like curling up under my desk and luxuriating in an afternoon siesta session.
So what’s a busy girl to do? Well after much face stuffing I’ve found that the best course of action for me is to have satisfying snacks on hand that don’t leave me feeling deprived. My suggestion, for those of you who have found yourself doing some of the things I mentioned above, would be to pick up a box or two of the brand new Ritz Crackerfuls. They’re made with real cheese (which makes them really yummy) and they also have 5 grams of whole grains per serving.
Each individually wrapped cracker has around 130 calories, which might not seem like very much, but these granola bar sized cheese and cracker treats have been able to seriously curb my over indulgent snacking habit. Ritz Crackerfuls are the perfect size to keep in your work bag, catch-all office drawer, or you could even stash a few in the glove box of your car. Plus they come in four crave-worthy flavors (classic cheddar, four cheese, garlic herb, and cheddar cheese and bacon) so your picky taste buds wont get bored. I even have a special link to share that will save you $1.00 on Ritz Crackerfuls filled crackers. Be sure to click here for your coupon.
Perhaps the coolest part though is that in conjunction with Ritz and BlogHer.com I’m able to offer you the chance to win a $100 gift card. All you have to do to enter the giveaway for this great prize is to tell me one of your craziest snacking moments in the comments section of this post. Plus, you also have 17 other chances to win $100 gift cards from additional BlogHer reviewers. Simply visit the Ritz Crackerfuls Round-up Page to learn more. This contest will end on July 31, 2010. At that time I’ll personally select a winner via the nifty random number generator.
PS: Feel free to check out the contest rules if you’re into that sort of thing.
