Also, Don't put it in an oven until the over is already pre heated. I guess this is an old post, but beautiful blog! I bet your food is delicious Erin! I collect vintage pyrex, I’ve learned over the years that the pyrex class is not meant to be heated over 350 degrees F.

If you’ve ever heated it hotter than that, bumped it, dropped it, It will explode! Also, Don’t put it in an oven until the over is already pre heated.

A couple of months ago I removed my pyrex dish from the oven, placed it on the counter and it literally exploded into thousands of pieces. It scared the you know what out of me! Thankfully I was wearing my glasses otherwise I would have had an eyeful of glass. Like another of your readers, we found glass for months. To this day, every time I take pyrex out of the oven I look (and run) away! Oh my, I saw this and just had to reply. I too, have been scarred by Pyrex, both emotionally and physically. The pan, at the time, was sitting on the edge of my kitchen counter, and I heard a funny crackling noise. I made the connection, threw Kelly out of the kitchen and on to the ground military style, hoisted myself on to the kitchen counter across the room and curled up into a little ball, and watched in horror as the pan exploded into a million pieces. We found glass shards around the room for months, and I even got a couple shards in my leg & foot. I have a hard time trusting Pyrex to this day! But oh, that mac & cheese does look delicious!
