I bet you thought I was kidding when I said I was going to buy one of these. Well guess what? I did! Sometimes it seems like Julia Child is the only person who really understands how bad it makes me feel when I burn an entire batch of roasted asparagus into charcoal-like crisps. But I’m not going to cry anymore. Saint Julia can help people! So let’s all light a candle to Julia and open a bottle of wine. Everything is going to be all right. Maybe if I burn my candle long enough I’ll work up the nerve to actually attempt the scary brioche recipe on the back of the candle?
I purchased my prayer candle at Qassa.com after viewing it originally on Etsy. They appear to be sold out of the Julia version now, but they do have plenty of Oprah, Britney Spears, and Judy Garland candles in stock. You might also be able to score a Julia candle from the Whisk store, but I can’t guarantee it. The candles are handmade so maybe if you ask the seller nicely she’ll make you one? In the meantime, if I hear of any additional places where you can buy this kitchen must-have I’ll be sure to let you know.
