Look who just arrived in the mail today all the way from New York?! It’s Julia Child! Well Julia as imagined by the fabulous Veronica Soto of Qassa. You might remember the original incarnation of the Julia Child Prayer Candle from way back in 2009, well Julia’s got a brand new bag…or wick as the case may be. She’s sporting an updated look and proudly displaying a brand new recipe. I heard it through the grapevine that onions are the new pink so out with the brioche and in with the French Onion Soup.
I am seriously going to treasure this housewarming gift immensely as my cooking prowess has seemingly been stolen by the tyrannical electric oven that lords over my kitchen these days. It’s been almost four months and I’ve yet to be able to get a cookie to come out pretty, puffed, and perfectly browned. What once was effortless has now become the bane of my baking existence. So the next time I try to whip up a batch of Thick and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies you better believe that Julia is getting lit. If anything can save me from this culinary curse and a household of gourmet ghosts it would be the spirit of Julia Child.
