What if your father was the slightly kinder, gentler, and less profane version of Gordon Ramsey? What if your mom left an unhappy marriage and became the pampered wife of a Big-10 basketball coach? What if you’d moved nearly half a dozen times in the past two years and created a new identity for yourself, with the help of the nickname-friendly middle name of Elizabeth, (Eliza, Lizbet, Beth, Liz ) each time?

Thanks to the perfect storm produced by the above, Mclean Sweet, the protagonist in Sarah Dessen’s latest novel, What Happened to Goodbye, is a teenage chameleon.  Click here to read the rest of my review on Blogher Book Club.

I’ve read this book many times already, and my mom is buying it for me for Christmas. I can’t wait to read it again. On my “favorite books” list!
It’s a must-read!
