I saw this festive Turkey Cake on Craft earlier this week (thank you Cathy Callahan) and because I’m a glutton for punishment I decided to try to whip one up. Well the finishing touches were just sprinkled on mere moments ago and I think this bright bird came out remarkably well. I made a few changes to the original cake, most notably the use of colored coconut to create a rainbow of tail feathers. Let’s hope everyone at our family dinner likes coconut! I hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

It’s cute! Hope you had a wonderful turkey day!
Oh so cute! How did you dye the coconut you used for the feathers?
Kelly – To dye coconut all you have to do is place some coconut into a zip-lock bag with a few drops of food coloring and then work the color into the coconut by shaking or squeezing.
Yikes. I’m a little late, but wanted to wish you happy turkey day just the same. The cake looks cute!
