It’s been a week now since we returned from Seattle and CK and I are still reminiscing about the the doughnuts at Top Pot Doughnuts. These delectable pastries are the epitome of why I pretend that all vacation meals are “calorie-free.” Walking into the bakery we were immediately faced with an incredible dilemma – which doughnuts would we choose from the glass case?! There were just too many amazing frosted, sprinkled, and fruit glazed doughnuts. It was an overwhelming choice to make before 9:00 AM and pre-coffee.
Eventually I decided to try a plain glazed ring that was absolutely enormous, as well as a “Feather Boa” which was topped with pink icing and fluffy coconut. CK picked out a raspberry glazed ring and a crinkly Old Fashioned. Paired with a cold glass of milk, I ended up on a sugar high for hours. Of course we went back again the next day. So I can highly recommend the Blueberry Cake doughnut to you now too. Starbucks actually started selling Top Pot Doughnuts in their stores last spring. I can’t imagine that they’re as good after sitting next to containers of Perfect Oatmeal all day, but I could be wrong.

YUM! Donuts with pink icing! I haven’t had one in years!
So, I’m no the only one who pretends all vacation food is calorie-free? It’s no surprise you choose the pink ones, but my favorites are always the regular glazed ones. I’ll take the one on the top left, thank you very much! 🙂
There’s a Top Pot a couple of blocks from our office so sometimes someone is sweet and brings a box over. I love Top Pot. My favorite is the old fashioned glazed.
They also have sandwiches there at lunch. It’s difficult for me to go there for lunch since I cannot walk out without a donut!
That Feather Boa one is making me hungry. Read your About page and nearly snorted tea all over the monitor–I too, had a pyrex dish explode in the oven about 4 years ago. I can still remember the noise.
The Starbucks Kruelers were not good the one time I had them. Maybe it was a bad day for them, but I haven’t wanted to buy another one just to test them out…
Donuts, can’t be a good one.
I’m embarrassed to say that I get a Starbucks Top Pot donut about 2-3 times a week. And I live in L.A. so they are not fresh, but still damn tasty. Love ’em.
